Professional Joined IPS in 1976 in Uttar Pradesh Cadre and later shifted to Uttarakhand Cadre in 2000. 39 years of experience of working in the Government of India (Ministries of Home Affairs and Railways) and State Government of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Headed Border Security Force (BSF) National Security Guard (NSG) and Uttarakhand Police.
Other assignments include Special DG – CRPF Chief Security Commissioner – Railway Protection Force (RPF) Deputy Director SVP National Police Academy Additional Director General – Intelligence/ Security / Training/ Administration in Uttarakhand. Also handled challenging assignments in UP as SP/SSP Kanpur, Lucknow, Faizabad, Bijnore, Mathura, Unnaou, Sitapur and DIG Moradabad Range / Anti-Corruption / PAC. Decorated with Presidents Police Medal & Indian Police Medal and UP Governments Samman Patra for outstanding services. Authored two books on police subjects Headed Indian Delegations to Pakistan, Bangladesh and Mangolia for border talks. Vast experience in policing and security issues, administration and policy making at the higest levels, anti-corruption and vigilance matters executions and monitoring of public services in challenging areas. Organised large scale relief operations by BSF in 18 most affected villages in Rudarprayag District after the unprecedented disaster in June 2013.
